Will “Mobily” become the 4th telecom operator in Kuwait?

You may have read it allover the news, but it is NOT TRUE. Then what’s the deal? The deal is that MOC (Ministry of communications) have signed a contract with SA Mobily operator (Subsidiary of the UAE Etisalat) and to be linked via “cable”… providing a closer, and more reliable international services carrier other than those in Dubai carrying Kuwait’s international communications.

I’m sorry folks, so the answer to the post title is NO :)

Recent changes on facebook

I have tried the recently announced changes on facebook user homepage. At first sight, you will definitely get confused unless you follow a graphical guide you’ll find at the top of the home page. But, after reviewing and actually using these updates, I found them very useful, smooth, and easy to use.

THREE MAJOR CHANGES:

1- Updates time line:

A dynamic timeline that loads the “twitter way” showing recent updates at the top. This timeline will show at the top right side for your facebook homepage. Below is a screen shot of hovering an update, and getting its details displayed:

2- Custom lists:

Have ever wanted to list your friends into limited access, close friends, workmates, family members..etc to view updates from that specific list? As well as targeting them with specific status updates or walls posts? facebook custom lists now give you this feature. Below are two screen shots I have taken while creating a list for friends interested in receiving Blog37 updates.

3- Top Stories marking

Yes, you can mark stories in the timeline to be Top Stories showing always at the top of the page. Some stories will be initially marked as Top stories, I’m not sure on what basis, but I think it’s based on the level of people interaction with that specific post/article/story. Below is a screen shot of how to set a recent story into a top story, on your own feed!

Gmail adds Drag&Drop attachments feature

“I’m always looking for ways to save time. Suppose I want to attach some files to an email, and I already have a folder open containing those files. I used to have to click “Attach a file,” find the photos, click them, etc. Starting today, if I’m using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox 3.6, I can just drag and drop the files to attach them — easy as pie.
We’ll enable this for other browsers as soon as they support this feature. For now, you can drag and drop attachments in Chrome and Firefox only. ” Gmail blog

Agility vs US case: Agreement reached?

There is an info circulating around regarding agility’s case that it has reached an agreement with the US gov. over a settlement which will be around $600 million that will be paid on 3yrs plus getting back on all the US gov. contracts again.

nothing is confirmed and I couldn’t find any related news neither on reuters nor bloomberg so it might be just a rumor or the deal is not sealed yet.

* UPDATE: another msg claims that the news  we got yesterday is true and it is expected to be announced on sunday morning.

* UPDATE:
