“The Pumps 4 Kids campaign is under the umbrella of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society in association with the Dasman Diabetes Institute to raise funds to provide insulin pumps for children with type 1 diabetes in Kuwait.

This form of therapy has numerous advantages relative to other forms of treatment; however due to it’s high cost only 10% of children in Kuwait have access to insulin pumps. Kuwait has the seventh highest incidence rates of type 1 diabetes in children under the age of 14, which highlights the importance of this cause. The funds raised by the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society will be provided to the Dasman Diabetes Institute to purchase the insulin pumps. It will then provide the insulin pumps to children, and offer them both training and on-going support to adjust to this new form of therapy.

Insulin Pumps can go a long way towards protecting Diabetic children from the physical and emotional suffering caused by 1,460 insulin injections every year. Please donate to help us give Diabetic children back their childhood.”

AC Milan and England midfielder David Beckham went off with a serious-looking ankle or foot injury late in Sunday’s 1-0 Serie A win over Chievo.

Beckham was getting ready to kick a ball unchallenged when he suddenly pulled up and signalled to the bench despite second-placed Milan having used all their substitutes.

A Sky television reporter on the San Siro touchline said Beckham had told the bench “It’s broken, it’s broken” as he came off.

There was no further news on the extent of the injury for the 34-year-old, who was hoping to be part of England’s World Cup squad in June.
