Elevation Burger: Ingredients matter!

Let’s face it, we’re all used to “Junk food”..

But this time, it is totally different! here comes a fast food restaurant that is totally healthy. “Elevation Burger” is setting a new definition of “Burgers” in Kuwait, I mean it! I have ordered the “Elevation Burger” (double meat) with “Ketchup”, “Elevation sauce”, and “Raw onions” toppings, large Coke, and fries. The taste, softness of the meat, freshness of the bread and fries have all summed up to give a great last feeling after finishing my meal; I didn’t feel full!

Literally, my first bite impression was “Damn! it’s really good!”, the thing that I have said infront of our friends in blog (It was really nice seeing you there guys!). The seating area was nifty and clean, the atmosphere was quite, and friendliness of the staff was amazing :)

Bottom line, I’ll sum it up in few words.. “Elevation Burger” have proven that “Ingredients matter” through the “Elevated experience” I’ve had there. Wishing all the best to the wonderful guys & girls out there :) Special thanks to Mr. Hussain Ashkanani for answering all my annoying questions, Mr. Aziz Alturaiji, and our dear friend Talal Al.Othman for the invitation. :)

The restaurant will open soon (within two weeks hopefully) and is located in Phase II, Avenues mall. Highly recommended

Social Suicide by Benihana

Being a social media professional, I could swear that Benihana (Japanese restaurant) has “officially” committed a social suicide by filing a lawsuit against one of the most popular bloggers in Kuwait.

As part of my job, I follow comments, posts, tweets, online articles and whatever is related to my company on hourly basis. I always receive good and bad comments, suggestions, ideas..etc. And what Benihana has done is by no means “healthy” for their business reputation.

What Benihana should have done:

1- Contact Mark & Nat and invite them again to Benihana
2- Ask them to highlight and justify whatever they don’t like in the restaurant
3- Offer them a free meal – maybe meals
4- Send an appreciation gift for making Benihana “Get better”

My Advice to Benihana, you now definitely need a PR & Social media consultancy to fix the reputation you have ruined. Congratulations, you have committed your 1st social suicide, if not your commercial one as well.

This statement is copied from their Facebook fan page.. heh! lol

“Dear BENIHANA fans,

At Benihana, we continuously strive to improve our relationships with our guests and our community.  We take any and all customer reviews very seriously and consider them opportunities for improving our operations and making the customer’s BENIHANA experience more unique, authentic, and enjoyable.

Over the last few days, we have read your posts regarding an alleged lawsuit filed by “Benihana” against a blogger based in Kuwait for posting an unfavorable review of a newly-opened, BENIHANA restaurant location in Kuwait.   We hear you and wish to correct any misinformation.” LINK

What Benihana should do, now:

1- Drop the lawsuit
2- Send an official apology to Mark & Nat, and to the potential customers you have lost! “Including me”
3- Fire your PR manager
4- Be more open about comments and “unfavorable reviews”!!

Mark, you got our support!

Dates are the best nutrition for dieting

As we all know it is best for us to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables everyday. They are a great source of vitamins, minerals and wholesome substances for our body in order to function well.

If you follow a diet plan, no matter what kind, and you are starving for something sweet, I’ve got what you need – dates. They contain all healthy substances our bodies need and extremely low, almost zero amounts of fat and no cholesterol. Isn’t it great – all we need + zero cholesterol?

Let me list all healthy contents of this wonderful fruit:

All values are based per 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of dates.

Dates are with a high carbohydrates content:

  • Carbohydrates - 73.5 g* (g* – grams)
    Total dietary fiber – 7.5 g
    Sugars – 66 g
  • Proteins - 2 g
  • Total fat - 0.45 g

  • Calcium – 32 mg* (mg* – milligrams = 0.001 grams)
  • Magnesium – 35 mg
  • Phosphorus – 40 mg
  • Potassium – 652 mg

There are even more minerals like Iron, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, Selenium but they are in a smaller quantity.

  • Vitamin A
    Beta-carotene – 5 mcg
    Lutein + zeaxanthin – 75 mcg
  • Vitamin B6 - 0.192 mg in a single date
  • Vitamin B-complex
    Total folate – 13 mcg

Dates contain also Vitamin A1B1B2B3B5C and more than 20 different amino acids; they help us digest and assimilate carbohydrates easier and control blood sugar levels and fatty acids content in our bodies.

The selenium lowers the risk of cancer and heart diseases, as well as helps us keep our immune systems healthy.

Calorie count per date

A single date contains an average amount of 23 calories, which is considered a very low caloric amount.

The very low calorie count and the huge amount of healthy substances in dates make them the best nutrition for a diet plan menu.
