I have just got a call from a friend telling me that Zain group CEO Dr. Saad Al.Barrak resigned… from Zain! Some sources stated that he didn’t.. while I got 2 messages from Kuwait News and Bu-Rashed confirming that he did!

Is it true? Can anyone confirm?

    Let him go…
Zain has bee mismanaged severely under his leadership.
hgis team lacks direction and purpose.
Zain is now a mere shell of the company they bought from Celtel..
    SHAME on you

Well, for starters i guess he was asked to leave, he would never resign willingly…
He over stretched the company to fit his personal agenda and dream of becoming immortal or bigger than life!! only to have it all fall apart… Their operations are suffering everywhere and most of the team members he favors, promotes and keeps are helplessly useless and incompetent!! So, good riddance!

Zain is completely mis managed, I worked in it and all the contracts go to ITS by default, a company of Dr Saad Al Barrack. In fact the tech chief also comes ITS and there are many guys from International Turnkey systems in every department, one can easily check their profiles and all the products they have are absorbed into Zain at unimaginable prices.

Its a serious issue of corporate governance. Interestingly the Kuwait Stock exchange does not understand the meaning of Corporate governance I think. Its a sinking company, atleast if people like Dr. Saad, Mohammed Rafi and ex ITS guys quit the company can stay afloat.

I hope some American, European company takes over and revives Zain. If Indian companies take over the saga may continue because of their affinity to Arabs for shady deals.

Dr.Saad is a great leader and has done a lot of god stuff for zain and zain’s employees. I only feel sorry for those people around Dr.Saad who are not qualified enough and may not survive without him.

I believe that Saad Albarak is not a good leader, a good leader wouldnt do what Dr Saad Albarak have done, without the sale of the african asset, the company was sinking…The new CEO Nabil Bin Salama has a lot to fix what Dr Saad Albarak ruined.
